Plant Maintenance Mechanic (Night Shift)

Job Description

for themselves and their families. As a Maintenance Mechanic you will perform tasks related to
preventative maintenance, mechanical machine repairs, inspection, testing of equipment,
building maintenance and specific projects. You will perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and
accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in the areas of Safety,
Quality, and Reliability. You will demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty,

Responsibilities

·         Able to assume responsibility for the manufacturing of consumer foods which comply
·         with all food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
·         Able to support our company and site safety policies and perform work related activities
·         in a safe manner.
·         Able to recognize unsafe working conditions, coach peers, and suggest new safety
·         standards as appropriate.
·         Able to perform the necessary activities to operate, maintain and clean production
·         equipment.
·         Able to follow and improve documented operational, maintenance and sanitation
·         standards in a Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) work environment.
·         Able to perform preventative maintenance activities (i.e., lubrication, etc.) and create
·         work orders, in a timely manner to maximize performance of our plant equipment. The
·         ability to improve and modify preventative maintenance activities as appropriate.
·         Able to plan, lead and execute preventative maintenance (PM) according to PM schedule
·         to minimize equipment downtime
·         Able to maintain all production line machinery and equipment to manufacturers
·         specifications, including reading and understanding all machine manuals
·         Able to complete reactive maintenance on production lines to recover from equipment
·         failures by repairing mechanical, and structural components
·         Able to repair, maintain, rebuild, operate & troubleshoot all mechanical equipment.
·         Able to adjust all equipment as needed.
·         Able to monitor refrigeration equipment.
·         Able to execute plant prevention maintenance program.
·         Able to participate in special project work on equipment upgrades or installations
·         Able to work with team members and operators to ensure the daily production schedule is
·         met.
·         Able to communicate daily with Quality Control, Supervisors and Machine Operators.
·         Able to ensure that all food safety issues related to equipment, processes, and methods
·         Able to adhere to all Food Safety and Quality policies and procedures, reporting any non-conformities to the Director, Quality Assurance, and the Plant Operations Manager.
·         Able to adhere to SOP policies and procedures, reporting any non-conformities to the
Director, Quality Assurance, and the Plant Operations Manager.

Education

·         High School Diploma or GED (required)
·         Associates or technical degree (highly desired)

Requirements

·         3-5 years of experience in manufacturing maintenance field in a food manufacturing
facility using production mixing and packaging equipment
·         Flexibility to workdays, nights, weekends and/or holidays to meet the needs of the
business is required
·         Strong mechanical and trouble shooting skills is necessary.
·         PLC experience is a plus.
·         Solid computer skills including the use of Word and Excel.
·         Refrigeration systems and HVAC knowledge is a plus.
·         Ability to work independently or with a team and communicate effectively.
·         Basic mathematical, statistical, and analytical skills.

Working Conditions

·         Able to lift, push, pull & carry up to 50 lbs. as needed
·         Ability to work in changing environmental conditions, heat & cold.
·         Frequent bending, kneeling, walking, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods of time.
